Vacation

Everyone benefits from taking  a vacation.  Just like you need Inner Spa Days, it is good to simply wind down for a week or two in a completely different environment from what you are used to to recharge your batteries.

Since we live in the mountains, we like to go to the ocean for a change of scenery.  The ocean is a powerful, moving body of energy that is full of cleansing and regenerative properties.  The ocean breeze is a sweet caress to your subtle body, a gentle brush to your energy field.

The lush tropical vegetation is not only pleasing to the eye but pulsating with life.  The pelicans, turtles, other tropical birds as well as the occasional alligator bless you with their presence too.  The sunsets are breath taking and the thunderstorms majestic.

When you are on vacation be aware of all that surrounds you.  Let it all in.  Let yourself be pampered.  You deserve it!

Believe In Yourself Exercise

If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will either.  This is a very simple exercise to get you believing in yourself:

1. Determine what you beat yourself most up about, your biggest fear...is it: I am ugly. I am not smart enough.  I am a failure. I am powerless. etc.
2. Once you have pinned the fear, think about who it is tied to.  These fears are tied to experiences you have made where you were judged and/or perceived you were judged.  Maybe you even judged yourself?
3. Go into your center.  In this inner space cut the tie with that person/persons.  Instead of working towards seeming beautiful, smart, successful, etc to someone else, find your inner male or female (choose whoever feels right for you specific situation) and have him or her say to you: I am beautiful. I am smart. I am successful. etc.  Tell yourself all the things you have wanted to hear from someone else.
4. Repeat this as often as needed, for starters at least 3 times a day.  All that matters is what you think of you.  Support yourself.  It will also draw supportive people to you.  :)

Insanity

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." by Albert Einstein

I had to laugh when I read this quote today!  It is so true!  How often do you find yourself spinning your wheels and going nowhere?  When you do, it is time to step outside of the wheel and check out a different path.  Where in your life are you repeating the same thing over and over again?  What can you do different?

Speaking Your Truth

Are you reluctant to confront people?  Are you concerned about the consequences and how it will affect all around you?  Do you try to please everyone and project a million scenarios into the future to cover all bases?

The best thing to do in this type of a scenario is to:

1) Realize that you can never please everyone, nor can you predict outcomes and/or the future.
2) Speaking your truth is more than likely one of your life lessons!  Take advantage of this knowledge and start working towards speaking your truth.
3) Know that the only one you can control is you.  It is important for you to say what you think and feel for your personal growth.  This doesn't  mean that you should blurt out whatever comes to mind first, but instead of playing out a million scenarios and wondering about others, think about what is important to you.  Feel into what the situation is teaching you and let your intuition guide you.  Do it with integrity.
4) By speaking your truth you give others permission to do the same.  Whether they take that opportunity or not is their choice.  Either way you are shining your light and being a role model for others to shine their light too.

Take Action

When something is bothering you and you can't let go of it no matter how many different scenarios you play out in your head, no matter how many justifications you come up with, it is time for some action.  Ask yourself:

What can I do to feel better about this?  What one positive action step can I take to shift my energy into peace and acceptance?

When you have your answer take the step and go into action.  You and all those involved deserve the chance to be at peace.  Make sure that no matter what the outcome you will have no regrets about your action step.  Make sure you are centered in your heart.  That type of action gives everyone the chance to grow.

The Male And Female Within

Everybody has a male and a female side within.  The female side embodies receptivity, intuition, emotion, sensitivity, nurturing, and vulnerability, while the male side has the qualities of strength, directness, action, and aggression.  Again both of these energies reside in each of us.

Just because you are a female, for example, does not mean that you need to suppress your male side and vice versa.  Quite the contrary!  If you do that you are creating an imbalance within, thus outwardly seeking the male qualities that are being ignored within.  Based on universal laws you will only attract mirrors that reflect your internal state of being.

When you start working your internal male and female energies in tandem, balance within is restored and your external reality will reflect that.

Turning Fears Around

Once you face a personal fear, how do you turn it around?  How do you work towards transforming it and growing from it?

Let's go through an example.  Let's say that you fear failure.  First face your fear by asking yourself the following questions (if you can't come up with answers right away:

1) Think of your life...how often have you succeeded in your life and how often have you failed?  Odds are that you have had far more successes than failures.
2) What is the worst that could happen if you failed?  Really, face your worst case scenario.  What is it?
3) What would happen if you fully succeeded?
4) Who is setting the standards of success?  Check in first with your mind and then with your heart.  How do they compare?
5) How will your life change would you succeed/fail?
6) Can you think of any alternative solutions to your fear?

After answering these questions work on creating an affirmation for yourself (check earlier blog post on how to do this) based on your findings.  Keep it short and simple.  For example:  "I trust in myself."  or "Everyday I do the best I can." or "I embrace my path however it unfolds."

Keep this affirmation close to your heart and repeat it to yourself daily. All of this will help your healing.
