Happiness Exercise

What makes you happy?

Take a piece of paper and write down times when you have been truly happy.  No matter how big or small, list as many as you can, without analyzing or judging.

Once you are done with this step, look at your list and see if there is a common thread between each.  What were the circumstances?  Who were you with?  What made you happy?  Where did the happiness come from?  Was it dependent on someone or something else?  Did it come from within you?

How would you describe your happiness feeling?  For example, recently I felt it as a effervescent bubbling flowing upward, making me feel giddy and giggly.  It can take many different forms.  List some of the ones you have experienced.

Get familiar with that feeling and with its source(s).  This is a great place to start when you want to increase happiness in your life.  Have fun with it!  That is what happiness is all about after all.  :)
