Here is a thought to ponder... If you seek to be independent, do you invariably push other people and their help away? Which leads to another question: Are independent people alone/lonely?
Independence means not being dependent on others. Humans are interconnected though and need each other. Though some independence is good, it also needs to be balanced with trust and dependence. Like light and dark, one cannot exist without the other.
